Twenty-five years ago, I brought my first batch of Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies to work for my co-workers to enjoy and one of them told me that I should sell them. It was just a cookie, after all, but I had worked really hard to tweak and perfect my recipe and I remember the way it made me feel when I saw how much joy those cookies brought to everyone who tried them. From that point on, I knew I wanted baking to be a larger part of my life. Unfortunately, at that time, life had other plans for me and the dream was put to rest. In 2016, I met the most supportive, kindest, compassionate man that a woman could ever wish for, and all the things I thought were out of reach suddenly didn't feel that way. His unwavering belief in me, and his unconditional love and support, helped me gain the confidence to put myself and my passion out there publicly and follow through with my dreams. Through family and friends' celebrations featuring my treats, I realized that I really could bring joy through my creations in the kitchen and in 2025, Kelly's Kookies & Kakes became a reality.
